LIIAR anaylsis of Grimsby College

The Grimsby College’s layout stands out and looks more like a college magazine.
They have chosen bright and bold colours for the back ground. The colours could have been a bit more young and enthusiastic rather than a business magazine look. The students are not going to be interested in a magazine that has no fun or life to it. They have used the same font for each bit of information, and made the text easy to read.

The masthead is the only text that really stands out on the cover. Although the website details are in a big font and are accessible to read, I feel that the main image is less creative and boring for a college magazine. The image should be bold, appealing and also trying to send out a message about the college to the young students that want to join the next year.
Although the contents page has lots of information and adverts it has been divided accordingly making it easier for the reader to find the information they need.

The information sections are all unique in their own way. The top left hand one ‘gx’ shows people ‘walking’ to what they want to do within the college. The Image is young and vibrant and striking. The logo is bold and noticeable which draws the eye of the reader towards the advert.
At the bottom left hand they have used a contrast by using a black and white image with a mixture of enthusiastic looking young students. They have chosen a distinctive font colour which brings out the information about that advert.

The contents section has a lot of bright, colourful and original images on this page making it look like a young adults college magazine. The font and the colouring for the headings are all  distinctive making each section stand out.
The language they have chosen for the subheadings, giving a small bit of detail about the contents within the page is aimed at the age group 16-19. This makes it more up beat and interesting.
